Role Description:
The role is to support the UK Equity Product Specialist Team in all elements of the function with a focus on the team’s hedge fund products.
The main aim of a product specialist is to minimize the amount of time the fund manager is required to spend with clients, allowing them to focus on the day to day running of the funds. You will be required to work on producing high quality data and presentation materials. You will also need to adapt the team’s message to best suit the client’s knowledge base and you will be seen a contact for all day to day queries on the fund management team’s investment decisions and market views. In this position you will be expected to establish strong relationships with both the retail and institutional sales forces and educate them on the products and raise the funds’ profiles.
This role is best suited to someone who is hard working, has a strong attention to detail and is interested in equity markets. The candidate will also need to have strong communication skills. The role is diverse and varied. You will also be expected to be involved in the risk management, legal process and operations of the hedge funds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the hedge funds and long only products to internal sales channels
- Preparation of product presentations and guardian of product data
- Maintain and develop a universe of contacts with the sales force
- Deliver/present highest quality product information to internal Marketing Sales Teams with a view to increasing the team’s assets under management
- Jointly own sales targets aiming to strategically grow the Funds’ AUM profitably
- Assist in educating sales force where appropriate on Hedge Fund strategies
- Assist in developing marketing strategy
- Enable "minimal distraction" for fund managers.
- Work with the product specialist group to ensure best practice across the team, implementing new ideas and adopting beneficial strategies
- Work on new presentations with the institutional and retail sales teams
Skills / Qualifications:
- Confident person capable of engaging with internal and external client base
- Technical and quantitative - must be able to understand and articulate fund management strategies clearly and with confidence
- Interest in equity markets, hedge fund industry with a view to strategic growth of the business
- Excellent presentation skills both oral and written
