Product Control has a critical role within the organisation. There is a close working relationship with the trading desks and other areas focusing on control, service and reporting. We are a central point of contact for many issues that affect the bank including new product approval, model validation and independent verification of derivative valuations. By placing a heavy emphasis on information technology and focusing on project work we are able to address control and operational risks and meet our internal and external obligations

The Balance Sheet and Controls team is a critical part of the UK FI Rates and Strategic Portfolio Product Control group, which is aligned to support the FI Rates trading and Strategic Portfolio business. 

The Fixed Income Rates business aims to be one of the leading liquidity providers in the derivatives and Government bond markets and to offer an integrated sales, trading and research service to the client base comprising investor business, corporates, financial institutions and hedge funds. We are a market leader in this asset class.

Strategic Portfolio is a global fixed income portfolio, focused on interest rate risk management by taking a longer term view on interest rates.

The Balance Sheet and Controls team currently consists of 7 members. The successful candidate will report directly to the Vice President in the team and s/he will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of talented individuals across a number of business areas and departments. Most importantly, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow through our on-the-job training and professional development program as well as provide support and act as liaison to the FI Rates trading and Strat Portfolio business within a controlled environment.
