UK Institutional Pension Fund Sales recruitment

The UK Institutional Salesperson will work closely with the Head of Distribution to implement the institutional direct sales strategy to continue the group's expansion into the UK market. He/she will be responsible for exploiting all opportunities across the group's entire investment capability through these prospects. There will be a close working relationship with the Consultant Relations Director, to ensure that the sales resource is targeted effectively in the UK.

• Implementation of institutional sales strategy for the UK in line with sales targets and budgets.

• Delivery of account management plans, involving other institutional colleagues / senior management as appropriate.

• Ownership of the tactical strategy on prospects, in line with the business/consultant strategy - prioritisation of prospecting; promoting opportunities for new business through frequent contact and discussions covering investment strategy, products, market developments; scheduling meetings as appropriate.

• Responsibility for pitching at finals presentations in conjunction with portfolio managers.

• Organisation and implementation of external events for prospects.

• Attendance at relevant industry events.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• In-depth understanding of the asset gathering process in the UK Institutional Pension Fund Market.

Alternatives experience desirable.

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a UK Direct Sales or relevant relationship role leading to a deep understanding of the prospect base - corporate pension funds or local government schemes.

• Existing pitching experience and a track record of closing deals.

• Strong technical ability and in-depth understanding of hedge funds and other alternative investment products.

• University Education plus IMC/CFA qualification is desirable.

• Strong emphasis on relationship building and a solutions approach to sales.

• Positive, highly motivated and enjoys challenges.

• Has outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
