The Worldwide Securities Services UK Pensions Markets Management Team in EMEA oversees annualised revenues in 2011 of $109 million and growth of 18% o the prior year. The group is responsible for developing and executing the business strategy, managing all aspects of J.P. Morgan's commercial relationship with institutional customers including business retention and growth, client satisfaction and service customisation design and delivery.
The UK Pensions Markets Commercial Lead is responsible for driving the strategic management of the market segment, ensuring we grow both top and bottom line, define existing service capabilities to open up new pools of business and work with our product partners to create and build new markets in order drive long term sustainable business growth across the full range of services available in WSS, TSS and J.P. Morgan as a whole.
In addition, responsibilities of this role includekey member of virtual team at the disposal of the newly appointed Global Pensions Segment Executive, Investor Services, WSS, with responsibility for shaping the Global Pensions Strategy and sharing UK best practice with other pensions teams globallydeveloping J.P. Morgan's profile within the pensions industry, for example, managing the relationship with the National Association of Pension Fundsensuring our commercial proposition to pension funds remains competitive by undertaking analysis of deals lost, consultant feedback and other market intelligence and driving agreement of new pricing proposals with Product and Pricing teamsdeveloping and delivering an innovative Thought Leadership programme, such as end to end development and delivery of our key proprietary annual events -for example,The European Pensions Summit, which attracts more than 100 clients and prospects, publishing regular white papers, writing pensions industry award submissions, writing for and administering the Pensions Blog, developing new business collateral, for example, to position our brand in the local authority pensions market.
The jobholder will report to the UK Pensions Market Manager, WSS.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
Understand pension fund client buying behaviour.Determine segment and sub segment strategy from client's perspective - translate this into what WSS should be doing to support existing and future needs.Monitor competitor and regulatory activities/issues impacting segment's existing business or future opportunities proposing any mitigating or commercial development where necessary.Close involvement with segment industry bodies in a leadership capacity in order to understand and
influence market bodies to the benefit of J.P. Morgan's business.Proactively set segment, and hence service, strategy including product bundle(s) and standard service integration offerings leveraging the capabilities of the whole firm.Define and monitor segment PLs (including at segment to
product level) leveraging a central utility for core market and business information.Build and present business cases to product companies for service enhancements and improvements - drive appropriate investment initiatives.Determine most appropriate sales, RM and CS coverage models for segments. Engagement with sales re: reviewing prospect databases for opportunities with a good fit to capabilities.Engagement with TSS and firm wide areas focused on similar segments.Responsible for segment marketing to create segment specific collateral, thought leadership materials, tools and segment specific client events.
