The UK Product Development team, which forms part of the wider Pan-European Product Development function, is responsible for helping to set the strategic direction of the UK domestic open ended fund range and partners closely with Investment Desks, Product Strategy, Distribution, Legal, Compliance, Operations and Funds Services to successfully deliver product related initiatives that address the needs of clients and distribution channels in the United Kingdom.  
The team’s primary responsibilities include facilitating the development of new products and collaborating across the organization to identify opportunities and enhancements that will competitively differentiate the offering over a multi-year timeframe.  The team is also responsible for UK domiciled product documentation (including the JPMorgan tax wrapper documentation (SIPP, ISA and JISA)) and facilitates management of the fund range, which includes ongoing fund rationalization efforts and other activities such as managing the product aspects of regulatory initiatives, capacity management, seed capital coordination and product line communication and metrics.  

This is a role for a documentation manager, reporting to the Head of UK Product Documentation. We are particularly interested in applications from people currently working in asset management, product management, legal, risk or compliance, preferably with experience of pooled fund and tax wrapper (HMRC) regulations and legal drafting, to complement the existing skill set and experience within the team.  

Main responsibilities and duties
•    Working alongside product development managers to ensure regulatory requirements and documentation issues are addressed in the scoping and implementation of new funds, changes to existing funds, mergers and liquidations. This entails working in a multi-functional environment to ensure the products meet appropriate JPMorgan and regulatory standards.
•    Liaising directly with the FCA on obtaining regulatory approvals and filing notifications.    
•    Keeping up-to-date with pooled fund and tax wrapper regulations and providing forward thinking advice and assistance on regulatory issues and their impact on changes to fund and tax wrapper documentation. 
•    An important aspect of the role is developing, maintaining and nurturing relationships across multiple functions (including Marketing, Compliance, Tax, Risk Management, Investment Desks and fund managers) as well as external legal counsel, the depositary and the FCA.

Essential experience
•    Experience in the asset management/insurance company industry, in particular experience in working in the UCITS/NURS/ insurance/ tax wrapper regulatory framework. The ideal candidate will have a background in pooled fund product development, pooled fund product management, legal, risk or compliance.
•    Preferably experience of drafting legal documents and managing the agreement of those documents across multiple functions in a controlled manner. 
•    Credibility and proven ability to engage with stakeholders across the business.

•    Excellent written and verbal communication and an ability to articulate complex ideas, concepts, and solutions at a level appropriate and intelligible to the recipient. 
•    Ability to manage complexity and deliver solutions to a tight deadline.
•    Proficient in Microsoft “Word”
•    Excellent attention to detail
•    Accurate proof reading
•    Good influencing and interpersonal skills; comfort in working with people at all levels across all functions.
•    Ability to develop effective partnerships with key business functions, including investment desks, compliance, risk, tax, operations, and internal and external legal counsel to support the product agenda.
 
Essential knowledge
•    Good technical capability in the UCITS/NURS regulatory environment.
•    A broad understanding of securities and instruments, HMRC tax wrapper rules, portfolio management techniques, investment processes, and investment management products
