Salary £27K -£30K

I am currently working with a leading specialist within the Gears and Power transmission industries. They currently have an opportunity for an experienced Sales Engineer.

You will be required to professionally and effectively represent the company in all commercial and technical aspects of the sales process, when engaging existing customers and new prospects within the defined geographical sales territory.

To manage and maintain existing customers and develop new business to grow the territory sufficient to meet and exceed fiscal business plans for order inflow, sales and profit targets.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Identify and develop sales opportunities independently and/or in coordination with any specific Industry/Sector campaigns initiated by the Sales Marketing function.

• Acquire a detailed and thorough knowledge of the company's products, technical and manufacturing aspects sufficient to enable you to effectively and confidently advise existing customers and new prospects in the selection of most suitable product types and associated power transmission and drive components, as relevant for the application.

• Produce and present accurate, professional and financially viable commercial quotations in response to customer/prospect enquiries. Monitor and follow up quotations in a timely and effective manner with an objective to maximising the odds of securing the business.

• Provide an effective, efficient and responsive after-sales support service to customers.

• Be able to offer a practical 'hands-on' approach to problem solving if appropriate.

• Attend exhibitions (trade/sector/industry) as and when required, which will include setting up and manning any stand and any preparatory work required.

• Benchmark our competitors to identify potential improvements to our existing product ranges. Review their application examples and assess our ability to exploit any new areas.

• Periodically SWOT analyse their own territory and in so doing, recognise in order to capitalise those S O's, whilst at the same time subjugate in order to mitigate those W T's.

• Communicate effectively and regularly (through informal/formal reports, email etc) with management on all issues which may impact positively negatively upon the company's business and market position, such as but not limited to; direct competitor activity, the progression/impact of competing technologies, customer activity, market activity, new growth areas, economic factors and other dynamics influencing the sectors we operate in.

• Create an annual territory forecast for order inflow by customer, by product class.

• Attend and contribute to quarterly sales meetings held regionally or at HQ.

• From time to time support and/or carryout other tasks within their sphere of capability and competence and for which they have been appropriately trained and that complies with the company's Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
