WYN Recruitment has just taken on board a brand new underground mining position, which will require a Civil Supervisor who ideally also has experience in materials handling and an EPCM background.
The mine was recently given the go ahead to a future expansion project, moving it from an open pit to an underground mine. The project is predominantly an underground construction requiring high quality development and engineering excellence with the Block Cave expected to operate until at least 2020.
The mine covers about 450,000 square meters and reaches about 600 metres deep at its deepest point. The open cut is nearing the end of its life and is due to close this year and progress underground.
As the Civil Supervisor you will be required to:
- Assist in the implementation of all aspects of the Project Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
- Ensuring that the contractor is carrying out all work which will enable the contractor's schedule and milestone deliveries to be accomplished.
- Ensure preparation of reports on progress of the work and general site issues.
- Assessment of the site content of claims made by contractors.
skills required include:
- A proven track record working on underground mining projects (essential).
- 4 years minimum EPCM experience.
- 6 years minimum experience in supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Managing construction foundations.
- Experience working on underground road ways.
- Experience in Steel, Reinforcement, Rock Bolting, Rock Anchors, Bulk Materials Handling and storage.
