Based in the Bowen Basin a few short hours from the beautiful Whitsundays, we require a motivated and enthusiastic Operations Manager to join our Underground Coal Mining Team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, your job is to help build and maintain an outstanding mine site: a safe work environment that produces an exceptionally high quality material in conjunction with a management team that strives for greatness.

The Role:
- Ensure that all mining activities on the site are conducted with consideration to relevant government regulations and legislation
- Ensure that company targets relating to Health, Safety and the Environment are exceeded
- Set and maintain high output targets through safe and efficient mining techniques
- Build relationships based on honesty and open communication with key internal and external stakeholders
- Build, mentor and train a high performance management team
You will NEED:
- Tertiary (degree) qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar discipline
- A 1st Class Mine Managers Certificate and SSE qualification will be highly regarded
- 5 + years supervisory experience in a Longwall Underground Mining environment
- Excellent commercial acumen, the ability to recognise improvement opportunities and implement reforms that capitalise on those opportunities
