Responsibilities:
- Ensure policy transactions are issued and changes are recorded accurately and in a timely manner by rating and/or entering transactions for personal lines of business, transactions may be quotes, new business, endorsements, cancellations or renewals
- Screen transactions to determine proper processing - refer to underwriters those transactions that require their attention; complete transactions directly if within delegated authority limits.
- Provide timely and professional customer service to agents to facilitate the processing of business; communicate as needed with agents to obtain information needed to complete screening and transactions, etc.
- Contribute to effective marketing of company products by answering agent questions, resolving agent problems on topics such as policy status, billing, etc, and explaining new or revised products and processes
- Order and screen miscellaneous reports needed in the rating and underwriting processes, such as motor vehicle reports, loss history reports, credit checks, outside inspections, loss control, etc.
- Provide administrative and general clerical support as needed to assure efficient operation of the underwriting team
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree a plus
- Two to three years of highly relevant work experience, includes previous work experience in data-entry and verification role where attention to detail and accuracy are critical, banking data entry is an example of highly relevant experience
- Technical capability to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in company software systems, previous experience in rating systems is helpful; must be skilled in tools including e-mail, MS Word and keyboarding
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to receive performance feedback constructively and make needed adjustments
- Track record of making quality decisions and judgment calls within scope of role
- Desire to contribute and ability to achieve great results in a team-oriented environment
