Would you like to be part of a newly-consolidated construction operation in Liberty Mutual' s Commercial Markets that will underwrite all middle market and large account construction business? Our underwriting operation lets agents and brokers access our specialized knowledge of construction risk and local decision making throughout Commercial Markets' account-size spectrum. It's an excellent opportunity for a talented commercial insurance underwriter with construction expertise, confidence of judgment and deal orientation.
 
Responsibilities:
 
In this challenging role, you will:
 
·Develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal and external clients; collaborate with Distribution to create and execute plan to manage the agent/broker relationship 
·Visit brokers and customers to retain existing accounts, maintain business relationships and develop new opportunities in your territory.
·Review engineering information, visit job sites to assess exposures, risk quality and compliance within company guidelines.
·Communicate and collaborate across the organization- such as Claims, Product Management, Loss Control, Legal, Credit, and Production-- to provide solutions/recommendations and achieve organizational success.
·Evaluate reinsurance requirements and implement appropriate action.

 

 

****Currently, we have opportunities for underwriters with different levels of experience (ranging from intermediate to expert) in six locations: Weston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Warrenville, IL; Alpharetta, GA; Irving, TX; and San Ramon, CA.****

Qualification:
 
The ideal candidate is a highly knowledgeable and disciplined underwriter with experience managing construction risks and a track record of growing a book of business that performs well over the long term.
