Underwriter (Credit Underwriter 3) – C07 – CitiMortgage ’11 Safe Act ACE recruitment

Provide prompt, courteous and excellent service at an acceptable cost to all customers and operate in accordance with the company's Statement of Business Practices, Affirmative Action Diversity and other standards. Actively cooperate and interact with all entities of Citigroup. Perform credit and property analysis on conventional loan files submitted within the time frame established by departmental management. Adequately and effectively explain in written and verbal form the decision reached in a manner that will maintain a positive relationship with all customers. Perform timely reviews of conditions submitted, as well as loan resubmissions. Analyze challenging loan packages to render sound credit solutions. Provides exemplary customer service to both internal staff and external customer by explaining credit decision and offering alternative options when needed. Maintain quality and production standards as defined by business. Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Skills

High school diploma plus 2-3 years experience in underwriting property and credit. Experience with and knowledge of property and credit underwriting requirements of FNMA, FHLMC, and private mortgage insurance companies. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Ability to effectively make decisions in an independent manner and availability as a resource advisor for all staff. Good analytical, problem solving, organizational and communication skills needed.

This position requires the employee to register as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry ("Registry") and obtain a unique identifier from the Registry before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities, to maintain and renew that registration on an annual basis, to update registration information with the Registry on a timely basis, and to provide that unique identifier to consumers as required by applicable SAFE Act regulations and Citi policies and procedures.
