This person would be responsible for underwriting 1st 2nd liens, standalone Helocs, conventional jumbo home loans in accordance with Fannie Mae and Credit Union guidelines. Remains current on and relays investor guidelines, mortgage insurance updates and other critical underwriting information to Home Loan processing team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Underwrites first and second lien home loans in accordance with Credit Union credit guidelines, investor requirements and various federal and state regulations o Stays abreast of internal and regulatory changes that affect tasks related to the processing and underwriting of mortgage loans o Stays abreast of changes to private mortgage insurance guidelines and communicates them to management o Provides and promotes exceptional customer service, internally and externally o Completes information accurately and conducts the appropriate audits to ensure accurate completion of home loan transactions o Responds promptly to requests for assistance and information from internal and external parties, and conducts appropriate follow up to ensure satisfactory conclusions; completes underwriting of home loans within prescribed timelines based on volume.
Requirements:
Must have HS Diploma/GED o 5+ years' experience in mortgage environment, including 3 years' experience underwriting conventional home loans o Proficient in MS applications, including Word and Outlook. o Experience using Desktop Underwriter and loan origination system(s) preferred. o Excellent oral and written communication skills
