JOB DESCRIPTION:

To develop and prepare basic to moderately complex design layouts in 2D and 3D for mechanical applications that are required to support Engineering for development and production programs.  Determines the general features of basic to moderately complex items and prepares layouts from which detail drawings can be generated. 

REPSONSIBLITIES:

Works under general supervision.  Follows established procedures.  Work may be reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy.

Contributes to the efficient workflow / operations within the department. Identifies / recognizes areas requiring improvement and provides suggestions to others.  Failure to achieve results may cause delays, expenses or inefficiencies.

Resolution of problems / issues may require investigation and / or judgment.  Any questions or problems that are not within the standard procedures may be referred to the supervisor.

Contacts are primarily within TS (i.e. immediate supervisor, project leaders, and others in the section). Generally requires exchanging, providing, discussing, and/or explaining information.  May require access to confidential information.

This position may serve as a resource to others within the work group / department.

This position does not directly provide leadership or supervision to other employees.  May provide guidance to other employees whom perform work that is similar or closely related to this job.
