Unit Manager, Assistant Vice President recruitment

Individuals at this level are held accountable for effectively managing problems and assessing how to best satisfy client requests. Unit Managers have a 'big picture focus' on operations and system needs and assist in developing and implementing enhancements. Individuals have a solid understanding of service requirements for specific area/operations/product and/or client. They filter several issues and work closely with high level internal and external business partners.

- Responsible for the direction and training of subordinate managers.
- Allocate and coordinate resources and handles personnel related issues.
- In conjunction with more senior management, develop recommend and execute business plans.
- May participate as part of the sales team to secure new business. Develop fee proposals.
- Maintain direct client contact on client relationships for contract negotiation, problem resolution, etc.
- Responsible for profitability of assigned client group, proactive account planning ongoing contact
initiatives for larger customers, product development
- Manage conversions of new business.
- Serve on committees. Help define and implement new company initiatives.
- Manage relationships with key contacts with internal/external clients, making sure that requests are being
met and that clients are satisfied with their level of service.
- Assess operational effectiveness and make suggestions to streamline functions.
- Monitor profitability of the client base and take appropriate steps to ensure that clients become or remain
profitable.
- May perform other duties as requested.
- Assess measure and manage risk exposure as part of standardized business practices; immediately
address and escalate issues, as appropriate, to sustain strong financial performance.

Skills

- Equivalent to a B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of related Investor Services operations, client and/or product experience, most of
which must have been in a management capacity.
- Knowledge of financial securities markets, language and products as well as legal and regulatory
requirements.
- Ability to develop business relationships within and outside the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and management skills
- Strong problem resolution and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications and spreadsheet proficiency.
