Unit Support Associate Schedule : On Call Shift : Variable Hourly Rate : $13.40 + Depending on Experience Job Category : Administrative Support Location : California-Torrance Providence is calling a Unit Support Associate at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance in Torrance, CA. We are seeking a Unit Support Associate to work with our patients and staff at the Providence Transitional Care Center. In this position you will: The Unit Support Associate (USA) role performs support functions on the patient care unit including admitting (quick admitting), record keeping, chart audit/management, order entry, log maintenance, and monitoring. Also performs as customer relations/"concierge", clerical systems facilitator and problem solver. Responds appropriately to patients and families with knowledge of age specific needs. This position also contributes to the team by processing necessary paperwork mandated by law/statute. Required qualifications for this position include: High school graduation or GED. Basic medical terminology and abbreviations. If no healthcare experience, then position requires completion of a vocational training course such as medical assistant, unit secretary, medical records, billing, etc. Ability to develop and organize filing systems. Must be able to accurately alphabetize and numerically file. Requires the ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Requires the ability to perform all physical requirements pertaining to delegated tasks. Preferred qualifications for this position include: Experience with computer entry and word processing. Recent experience in a healthcare setting including, but not limited to, either unit secretary, admitting, billing or a medical records clerical position. About the hospital you will serve.
