JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Unit Tech performs tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, treatment, transportation, and various clerical tasks. Performs routine tasks involving direct and indirect patient care such as: .Assisting with daily living activities .Assisting with treatments .Transporting patients, equipment and supplies. Observes, documents, and reports changes in patient activity and/or symptoms such as vital signs, respiration, discomfort, intake, output, weight, and bleeding. Acknowledges patient inquiries; responds or refers inquiries appropriately. Answers patient call lights; determine nature of problem; respond within scope and/or obtain appropriate resources. REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrates ability knowledge of basic patient care techniques and procedures in the care of the specific age group to which assigned. Must possess basic skills to use Microsoft Windows, the internet, and send/receive e-mail; strong communication skills required. WA CNA License and Health Care Provider CPR required at date of hire. Recent experience in an acute care facility preferred - six months of hospital experience preferred. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Evergreen Hospital Medical Center and the SEIU which contains a "union security" provision. This means that, as a condition of employment, you must join the union and pay union dues and any required fees within 30 days of your date of hire.
