My client is looking for a Unix Admin - Infrastructure Specialist for a 6 month contract based in Gosport. This Unix Admin - Infrastructure Specialist must hold current MOD Security Clearance and have 2+ years experience of HP-UX v3 rp and Linux server hardware builds. Integration in a clustered blade server and virtual environment.
Role overview
Infrastructure Specialist to undertake midrange HP-UX infrastructure and Operating System support and administration for Client environments (Development Production). This role requires excellent skills in HP rp, blade server and vitualisation technologies, including problem solving, new implementation and a working knowledge of HP SAN and Networking technologies. SC security clearance is essential.The role is required to support the SPVA contract on-site in Gosport.
Day to Day Responsibilities
Provide support, build and administration of HP-UX blade, non-blade and rp server infrastructures capable of supporting Client systems. Liaise with the Account Service Management team while adhering to ITL v3 principles and processes.
Assist with the planning, implementation and delivery of technical tasks as assigned by Project Managers and/or SDMs.
Review design, build and installation documentation and implement where appropriate.
Perform technical and application compatibility tests to ascertain the level of integration and supportability
Perform application integration support
Occasional site visits for implementation and support.
Interface with project groups and Account Service Management teams regarding production problems and technical concerns.
Essential Skills
2+ years experience of HP-UX v3 rp and Linux server hardware builds. Integration in a clustered blade server and virtual environment. With exposure to the following:

Strong skills in verbal and written communication including the writing and reviewing of documentation.
