My client is Higher Education of creativity. They are urgently looking for a Unix Administrator to join their team of 2 Unix Administrators. Technical skills for Unix Administrator;

 

·         UNIX administration including; Solaris, Linux, OSX Server

·         Web Services (Apache, Tomcat)

·         Shell Scripting; BASH, PERL

·         Virtualisation Technologies (VMWare, Xen, KVM)

·         Networking; DNS and DHCP

·         Email Services (EXIM, SendMail)

·         Performance analysis / Capacity Planning

·         Server and Storage Hardware

 

Responsibilities for UNIX Administrator;

 

·         UNIX-based server; Installations, configuration, management and patching.

·         UNIX Based; clusters, network storage, network appliance servers, operating systems and associated software.

·         Capacity management, resolving shortfall to agreed procedures

·         Maintain schedules and procedures,

·         Monitoring system performance, activity and intrusion.

·         Security risk assessments

·         Documentation of network management, process improvement and configuration management

·         Design, code, test, correct and document complex test scripts

·         Provide advice where necessary for UNIX-based tasks.

 

Salary - £31-37,000 + great benefits
