Unix Engineer (I-Bank $40k-$55k) recruitment
Our client is a leading global financial institution and has a technically strong team of Unix system Administrators responsible for maintaining a Linux (Redhat) /Solaris servers as well as replacing Solaris servers over to Linux
Responsibilities of the role:
- Maintaining the Unix server environment as a part of the regional team ensuring global standards are followed.
- Conduct system health-checking and monitor server healthiness whilst reviewing server capacity and ensuring the servers are in good condition.
- Design and automate workflow with Shell Script to improve IT processes and maintain system consistency.
- Acting as a Unix engineer to deploy new servers by working closely with vendors and internal IT teams.
- Manage internal system migration projects.
- Mentoring more junior members of the team.
Requirements of the role:
- Minimum 5 Years as a Unix Engineer or Unix System Administrator with experience on Linux and Solaris Servers.
- Must have a proven banking sector background in Unix and experience of large enterprise Unix environments.
- Strong Scripting skills in Unix Shell Scripting.
- Ability to manage Unix server upgrade projects, system migration projects and data centre moves.
- Red Hat Certification would be beneficial.
- Good English communication skills are essential.
