Unix Support Consultant – Unix, Oracle, AIX, SQL
Alexander Black Recruitment is urgently looking for a Unix Support Consultant to join our high profile client.
Our client is one of the major financial software vendors they build and deliver software solutions for a variety of banks and funds in asset management, savings insurance and leasing credit finance market.
The Unix Support Consultant will be responsible for providing professional support to the an external customer base and internal development teams. Ensuring hardware systems and associated software environments are maintained effectively and available according to requirements. Investigating new technologies and providing technical resource for system enhancements.
The UNIX consultant will:
- Implement new server environments
- Perform standard administration tasks to ensure systems are available and performing effectively. Maintain system backup and recovery strategies
- Implement new Oracle environments
- Standard administration tasks to ensure Oracle environments are available and performing effectively. Maintaining RMAN backup and recovery strategies. Administering Oracle GRID architecture.
- Perform system implementations and upgrades, support ASP solutions, ensure systems are effectively monitored
- Develop scripts to automate and/or improve adhoc /regular processes or monitoring functions.
Candidates MUST have:
- At least 2 years’ professional system administration experience in a Unix environment supporting business-critical systems
- UNIX (AIX, LINUX, Installation Support)
- TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SSH
- Oracle (Server, Application Server Client Installation Support. SQL, PL/SQL, TNS RMAN)
- Oracle (Grid, MOD PL/SQL, Flashback, Dataguard)
- Shell Script Programming
