Unix System Administrator – Investment banking recruitment
Responsibilities
l Perform server hardware and operating system upgrades across the Asia Pacific Region
l System analysis of existing system configurations, discussion and negotiation with business technology developers on target environment for the server upgrade
l Coordination of server hardware purchasing and installation.
Requirements
l Solid familiarity with RedHat Linux 3-5, Solaris 8-10, and VMware ESX (at least 5 years of experience for at least 2 of those OS families)
l Change management experience
l Familiarity with Veritas clustering (VCS)
l Understand the technical requirements of an application
l Recommend a viable path of migration off the old hardware/OS to a new one with regards to capacity, performance and resiliency
l Work together with and support application team during the migration
l Good English language writing and verbal skills
l Taking ownership of the assigned migrations
l Proactive and can-do attitude
l Analytical
l Work with minimal supervision
Desirable Skills:
l Working in a bank environment
l Working in a large regional organization with distributed teams
l Familiarity with AIXI
