JPMorgan provides innovative Custody, Registry, Fund accounting and Fund Administration solutions, Clearance and Securities Services to the world's largest institutional investors, alternative asset managers and debt and equity issuers. In Australia and New Zealand JPMorgan WSS provides services to over 70 clients, helping them to mitigate risk and enhance revenue through a broad range of investor services as well as securities clearance, collateral management and alternative investment services. The WSS Technology team supports the WSS businesses in Asia Pacific. The team consists of Applications and Infrastructure focused professionals.
This role is part if the Infrastructure team (WSS Technology Infrastructure - TI), which is a global team providing Infrastructure services including Systems admin, Database Admin, Project Management, Service Delivery Management.
Position Summary:
- Systems Admin - focused on Solaris Linux based servers
- On-site production support 08:00 -18:00 AEST.
- Project deployment services for Unix server based systems and products.
- Support Linux and Solaris based operating system servers.
- Out-of-hours support for production systems
- Responsible for documenting deployment and operational standards
- Plan, document and implement Unix based infrastructure changes.
- Support application development partners with implementing change.
- Planning and implementation of server High availability and site contingency solutions.
- Support annual disaster recovery tests
- Contribute to Global server deployment and operations standards.
- Define technical and procedural solutions for server monitoring, tuning and Capacity Management
- Accountable for server security configuration as prescribed by the Firms IT Control Policies (excludes user account management)
- Respond to Audit enquiries, manage risk, pro-actively manage security exposures.
- Focused on continuous improvement of service, technology and process improvement.
Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:
- Deliver server administration and project deployment services to the WSS Australia NZ customer base.
- Represent the WSS TI team on numerous customer project engagements as a Unix server SME.
- Health Management - Publish and review performance against KPI's. Run service improvement plans to address adverse trends.
- Partner with Applications teams to deliver best in class service and solutions
Skills
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years experience of working in a Systems Admin/engineering role on Unix based server environments - Solaris and Linux
- Solaris 10, Linux/Redhat
- Advanced knowledge of the Solaris 10 and Redhat 5 6 based operating system and the ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Experience in capacity planning, systems performance analysis and optimization in a distributed client/server environment
- Comprehensive understanding of networks, DNS, web services, tomcat Java preferred
- Capability of troubleshooting performance issues. Knowledge of DTRACE would be a plus.
- Familiarity with distributed enterprise management tools such as Tivoli, SNMP, PERFMON or their equivalents are also a requirement
- Skilled at shell and perl scripting
- Experience with Veritas Storage Foundation Suite, NAS SAN is a must.
Formal Qualifications:
- Degree educated or equivalent work experience.
- Certification or at least worked extensively in ITIL Environment have thorough knowledge about ITIL Process
