A global tier 1 investment bank is looking to hire an experience web and unix/linux infrastructure engineer to join their web portal and infrastructure services team. The team are responsible for a mixture of web engineering, support and project and product implementations, as well as working alongside other support and infrastructure teams to ensure efficient capacity planning and change management for existing and new technology. The core technology stack for the web environment is based on Linux, Apache and Weblogic.
Ideal Technical Skillset:
- UNIX/Linux skills
- Java Web Applications, Weblogic and Apache Web Servers
- Networking understanding inc; TCP/IP and HTTP
- Good Scripting - Perl/ Shell/ Python
Ideal Experience:
- Experience building/supporting multi-tier web application environments
- Mixture of Support and Project experience
- Financial/Wealth management applications and data
- Good knowledge of Web Infrastructure, Architecture and Security
Experience working in an enterprise, financial/wealth management environment is ideal, along with a Bsc/Computing degree. While technical skills are key, strong problem solving ability, analytical and communication skills are equally as important.
