This unit also manages merchant set up, portfolio actions like credit line increases and upgrades and commercial cards. The unit is expected to be flexible and nimble in processing high volumes at a very low turnaround times with high reliance on automation / systems is high. The job involves managing operations at Singapore as well as an offshored entity in Malaysia. This role, reporting to the Credit Operations Director, would need the person to work closely with risk management, product, compliance, the senior management group in Singapore and the region.
- The incumbent has to manage the planning / staffing necessary to manage the daily flow of applications and transactions at the two centers. The job involves having full management responsibility for 4 teams across 2 centers covering over 100 people. A significant amount of time would have to be dedicated for planning, budgeting, coaching as well as ensuring effective process controls are in place.
- Work on key technology projects to enhance the on boarding experience i.e. enhancements which typically would simplify the applications process and enable a faster fulfillment. Should have a keen appreciation of technology and its application to Credit Initiation.
- Develop a Credit Initiation roadmap / initiatives for the year and influence key indicators like approval rates, TAT, unit cost, error rates.
- Unit has an expense budget of over 5 MM SGD. The incumbent would have to actively look for avenues for reengineering through automation and productivity enhancement
- Communicating effectively with risk and business - be the fulcrum of the customer acquisition process and ensure that policies are implemented flawlessly while at the same time providing feedback on process / market practices / policies.
- Nurturing the team along a career path. This would include mentoring, coaching, training as well as providing opportunities for people to work on specific projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Atleast 10 years of experience
- Experience in managing moderate sized teams
- Appreciation of customer experience, technology and costs
- Ability to work together with business and risk teams and drive for results
- Prior experience in risk management, credit initiation or operations and technology would be preferable
