The Capital City Weekly, Southeast Alaska's largest distributed community newspaper, is offering a rare part time opportunity to join our editorial team. Hours will vary and are flexible. If you are an excellent writer interested in writing about the people and communities of Southeast Alaska, we want to hear from you!
The person who fills this position will write news and feature stories, shoot photographs, and assist the Managing Editor with copy editing and page design. If you have strong reporting, writing and editing skills, we are happy to help you develop your skills in other areas.
This is a lively, fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment. This position offers a great opportunity to dive into all aspects of community journalism and have your work read throughout Southeast Alaska. If you are creative, inquisitive and adventurous, this is an excellent opportunity to grow as a writer and journalist and to make a difference in our communities.
