Job Description
- The role is a leadership role within Global Anti-Money Laundering Group reporting to the Senior AML Compliance Manager for APR and will involve significant relationship development within the business and other support areas.
- The successful applicant will be responsible for the development and management of an effective investigative AML process for the region.
- The individual will have the ability to manage stakeholders including the executive committee, senior management within both legal, risk, and compliance and dictate anti-money laundering policy across several growth areas
- The successful individual will be working hand-in-hand with the business and other functions such as Global Corporate Security to investigate matters and determine appropriate action.
- The individual will assist in establishing relationships with government authorities, regulators, and exchanges across Asia-Pacific
- Oversee investigations and analysis of cases including anti-money laundering regulatory reporting, suspicious reporting and account closures in Asia, Japan and the Pacific Rim
- Develop a strong external network of senior anti-money laundering risk professionals from similar firms to ensure Bank of America remains at the forefront of best practice
Requirements
- Five to Ten years of investigative, law enforcement or forensic accounting experience.
- Proven strong understanding of anti-money laundering laws, rules and requirements affecting the business and products in the region, as well as a fundamental understanding of how money launderers operate in the global market.
- Strong analytical skills and probative thinking
- Strong financial market understanding, specifically in equity, fixed income, derivatives, interest rate, foreign exchange and commodities
- Experience in corporate banking and wealth management is an advantage
- Proven people management capability - particularly in building, retaining and developing high performing teams
- Ability to gain professional respect from key stakeholders quickly due to their obvious technical knowledge, intelligence, strong communication / relationship / influencing skills and commercial mindset
- Able to build relationships and present concisely and confidently to the risk committee, regulators, and other key stakeholders
- A commercial mindset; be on top of regulatory developments and think in terms of the business not just in terms of the function
- Rational mind, bright, uses intellect and experience to solve problems; knows the right questions to ask. The ability to demonstrate sound judgement.
