Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients (internal and external) by responding quickly and accurately to their requests and providing recommendations on the latest product developments and exchange mandated changes.
- Collaborate directly with the Execution Services business, Global Markets and Research Technology partners and Technology Infrastructure technical teams to deliver lowest latency designs
- Track industry changes across the Asia Pacific including Exchange Co-lo plans, Proximity Hosting solutions provided by 3rd party vendors, Market Data developments and present the feasibility of these solutions to the business and technology management.
- Be an integral part of the banks Co-Location strategy and business deliverables across the region (Projects and Operations)
- Work on strategies to develop industry leading latency monitoring and availability tools and deploy those tools to trading sites for use by the business
Required Skills:
- 8+ years experience within an Investment Bank, Hedge fund or Financial Services Vendor
- Excellent understanding of Network Infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of APAC markets and related connectivity.
- Hands-on, can do attitude, time to market approach, capable of exceeding the expectations of the front office and clients.
- Strong knowledge of financial protocols (eg: FIX), Market Access APIs and Market Data protocols both direct from Exchanges and from major vendors
- Understanding of front office trading (Cash, Futures Options etc)
- Highly motivated, creative, analytical thinker with excellent documentation skills.
- Confident communicating in technical forums and with the business
Desired Skills:
- Strong Knowledge of APAC markets and related connectivity – Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Korea and India all beneficial
- Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Mellanox, Solarflare, Chelsio
- Low Latency Tools (Netscout, Corvil, Tip-Off, Correlix,)
- Scripting Languages – Perl, Python, Ruby
- Market Data Applications – Bloomberg, Reuters, Feedhandlers
- B2B connectivity – Radianz, TNS, IPC, Major Telcos, VPN techologies
- Language: Japanese, Mandarin, Korean all advantageous
- Out of hours Level 2-3 escalation and on-call weekend support rota support (bi-monthly) required
