Upstream Oil & Gas Analyst for market leading Consultancy – £50,000
My client is a market leading Energy Consultancy based in London that are looking for an Upstream Oil and Gas Analyst to join their Research team to help provide in-depth coverage of the strategies and portfolios of companies in the upstream oil and gas industry. The reports and data are regarded by the industry and financial institutions as an essential source of differentiated and independent research. As well as publishing reports, we market our thoughts and ideas regularly in face-to-face meetings with these clients, often at a senior level.
The Corporate Service reports are widely read at the highest executive level and as such the quality of work is paramount. As they become experienced in the role, they will expect analysts to be able to extract data to show the strengths and weaknesses of the companies, and also be able to present a clear strategic assessment in written form.
Production and Delivery of Corporate Research Products
- Research and gather company information using proprietary data, company accounts and face-to-face meetings with company contacts
- Review, prioritise and analyse data in order to produce high quality quantitative and qualitative reviews and valuations of individual companies within deadline
- Produce analysis of the quarterly results relevant to the portfolio coverage
- Lead insights on major items of news flow related to company coverage
- Check and sign off company spread sheets for each quarterly Corporate Benchmarking Tool cut
- Provide expertise to be used in bespoke consulting projects and bank mandates
- Ensure departmental procedures and processes are followed at all times
- Contribute new ideas, enthusiasm and desire for excellence to the work of the team
Business Development
- Assist client managers in maintaining and improving relationship with existing Corporate Service customers and marketing to new targets
- Co-operate and communicate fully with Consulting, Client Management and Marketing teams in the Business Development process
Communication
- Ensure issues are communicated to the Lead Analyst in a timely fashion
- Will share information and ideas with colleagues across the organisation
- High level of interaction with upstream research analysts to ensure data integrity and a value added regional strategic assessment
- Has regular contact and communication with consulting, technology and information management teams
- Develop new and maintain existing client relationships
Required
Strong Energy Industry experience and a good first/second degree (2:1 or above) in a business or energy related technical discipline. Experience of valuation techniques/economics required. Familiarity with analysing corporate accounts preferred.
