The Position
Wellington Management Company, LLP is looking for a portfolio analyst to work with the US Broad Markets Fixed Income Portfolio Management team. This individual will work closely with the US Broad Markets team to provide critical support of their cash management efforts. More specifically, this person will work with portfolio managers, portfolio analysts, and traders to ensure cash balances and cash are maintained and managed appropriately across US Broad Markets portfolios. In addition, the portfolio analyst may also become involved over time in the execution of other investment strategies across client portfolios and will assist with monitoring and analyzing investment risk. This position is ideal for someone who is interested in being part of a close team and learning about fixed income portfolio management.

The portfolio analyst will be based in Boston and will work with the team in providing support for their portfolio management activities.

Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include:

•Interact closely with portfolio managers, portfolio analysts, and traders to maintain and manage cash balances across portfolios, including those sleeves that have been outsourced by the US Broad Markets team to other fixed income investment teams
•Rebalance portfolios in response to cash flows, benchmark changes, market price movements, and changes in client guidelines.
•Monitor positions relative to client guidelines and verify transactions are consistent with guidelines.
•Interact with many areas of the firm to improve processes and minimize operational risks.
•Help monitor risk and performance across client portfolios; analyze risk exposures and key market sensitivities of positions in portfolios

Qualifications
A successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a quantitative orientation, and be detail oriented. The individual will also be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with various investment professionals and other business professionals around the firm. The candidate should also possess the ability to think creatively and initiate projects that lead to improved implementation of strategies and trades. The candidate must be able to work well as part of a team and enjoy a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. A basic understanding of and a strong interest in fixed income investing and a bachelor's degree with one to five years of experience in financial services is required.
