Used Equipment Sales Job in Casper 82601, Wyoming US

GENERAL PURPOSE

To sell excess Caterpillar and non Caterpillar construction, mining and industrial equipment to customers outside our territory. Work with Caterpillar dealers on re-renting equipment to them to fulfill their customer’s needs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The salesman will sell equipment excess to Wyoming Machinery Company territory needs to end users, brokers and other equipment dealers around North America and the world.  The salesman will develop relationships with these customers so that trade-ins, governmental buy backs and rent roll outs will be liquidated.  The salesman will work with dealership web pages and page advertisements.  The salesman will assist the buyer in financing the sales transaction if needed.  The salesman will define the customer’s needs and if they are a retail or wholesale buyer. Quoting of rental fleet to CAT Dealers who have a rent-rent opportunity in their territory.

 

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Keep the guidelines set up by CAT for selling 24 month old equipment or newer to brokers or auctions.  Also maintain the significant use rule to not infringe on another Cat dealer’s territory.  The salesman will provide the customer pictures, condition reports or other necessary information for them to make an informed purchase.  The salesman will represent the equipment to the best of their ability with honesty, integrity and safety.  The salesman may also assist in giving the used equipment buyers for the dealership leads or equipment their networking group has for sale to fill orders in our territory.  Attend auctions to network, visit customers or brokers at their office.  Also have general working knowledge of equipment.  Must do sales quotes and gross profit spreadsheets in a timely and accurate manner.  Effectively represent the company in appearance, attitude and work habits.  Cooperate with and support others in the company.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, application, selection, acquisition, maintenance, repair and disposal. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.  Ability to work effectively with others, both inside and outside the company. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Ability to utilize the materials available to sell products. Basic public speaking skills. Intermediate PC computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point and the Internet). Utilize basic selling skills (communication style, questioning, listening, feature/benefit relationship, call planning, territory management, objections, use of visuals, negotiating and closing) to effectively win the available business. Able to organize one's time, resources and territory. Self-motivated. Able to operate most earth moving equipment.

 

 

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING

High School graduate with five years of sales or equipment experience.  College degree preferred.  Must be able to speak, write and read English.  Bilingual is a plus.
