USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNER recruitment
The successful candidate will contribute to the creation of a world class User Experience and Design function. They will ensure that the company websites are customer friendly and engaging and that they create a good fit between customer needs and business objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
- Elicit business requirements within projects to ensure that digital objectives and scope are sufficiently understood and defined.
- Shape the User Centred Design process within projects to increase uptake and adoption.
- Devise the user experience for digital through sketching, wireframing and prototyping. These things at times may be delivered by a third party and so the role would be to manage their delivery.
- Brief and steer creative design agencies on visual design to ensure screen designs make an impact and differentiate from our competitors.
- Manage stakeholder expectations to gain buy in to solutions and reflect digital best practices.
- Work with technical development teams to ensure the user experience, interaction and visual design are understood and accurately reproduced.
- Produce design documentation (design briefs, interaction specifications, patterns) to ensure activity is completed as efficiently as possible.
- Manage suppliers to produce necessary outputs (visual design, interactive widgets) to achieve project objectives.
- Contribute towards Group Web Interface Standards (GWIS) to drive a consistent approach to web design and ensure that we are future proofing our websites against major technology and customer changes.

Core Requirements:
- Significant experience within a User Experience role.
- Experience of working with teams to define requirements.
- Strong information architecture, interface and interaction design skills.
- Ability to create wireframes and prototypes using software such as Axure and Visio.
- Usability testing experience (eyetracking, card sorting, focus groups)
- Demonstrable interest in creative design and ability to manage agencies to produce high impact digital design.
- Ability to produce artwork mock-ups using graphical design packages such as Photoshop.
- Significant experience of delivering user experience and design within large scale web based projects.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Experience of deploying User Centred Design in new environments.
- Experience of managing suppliers and other third parties.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interrogate information from analytics such as WebTrends, ClinkDensity.
- Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
