Overview: Macys.com is looking for a seasoned User Experience Researcher to join a new and growing team. We are looking for someone smart and well-spoken to drive research methodologies and execute studies. You will be the "go to" resource for the User Experience team to answer questions about our customers and test new designs. Our team is savvy in the basics but we want you to take us to the next level. This is a great opportunity to have significant input into the customer experience of a major retail brand. Work samples, portfolios and project case studies are appreciated. Key Accountabilities: Work with UX Architects and Product Managers to develop a research approach, schedule, and detailed test plan. Plan and execute studies including recruiting, logistics, moderation and data collection. Synthesize findings to inform a better understanding of our customers, give insight into business/user value, and identify potential usability issues. Communicate analysis, recommendations and potential design solutions verbally and through documentation. Present findings to business owners, key stakeholders, senior executives, visual designers and other UX team members. Identify opportunities for non-project-based studies to further understand our customers. Develop and manage a customer panel. Mine analytics and click-stream data for usage patterns and UX issues. Participate in design discussions with the larger UX team. Serve as a subject matter expert on our customers. Skills Summary: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors or related discipline. 5-10+ years of experience designing and executing UX research studies. Familiarity with a variety of research methodologies including usability testing, contextual inquiries, focus groups, surveys, unmoderated and remote studies, diary studies, etc. Strong, analytical problem solving, decision-making, and leadership skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken. The ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. Comfort with data-logging tools such as Morae, Camtasia or similar. Familiarity with wireframing tools such as Visio, Axure, etc. Experience with customer-facing websites and mobile applications.
