Position Overview
The User Experience / Web Interaction Designer will have a role in design efforts for the development of FirstComp web application projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This individual will work closely with product managers, developers, engineers, and business users to identify, conceptualize, and optimize new functionality and features – and will continue owning the design process until the implementation has met a high standard of quality. Specific duties responsibilities will include:
- Build close relationship with internal and external customers in order to understand their workflow and present solutions to enhance ease of use for all web interactions.
- Work out designs and wireframes for internal and external presentations as necessary.
- Work with development teams, analysts and internal customers to stay highly responsive to product development timelines.
- Work closely with the engineering team to deliver assets including HTML, CSS, and Javascript and oversee optimal implementation of the designs.
- Help develop new ideas to test and apply to the product development.
- Collaborate on the application and corporate brand’s evolution online and across all touch points.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience in web user experience design.
- In-depth knowledge of latest developments in media and web technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience with HTML, Javascript, AJAX (preferred)
- Experience with ColdFusion (preferred)
- Experience with JQuery (preferred)
- Deep understanding of technology, web optimization, and user interface and experience design.
- Strong understanding of current HTML/CSS best practices and web standards as well as cross platform/browser development.
- Proficient with design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc).
- Strong communication skills: Presentation, Written, and Listening.
