Job Description

Kickboard is changing the way teachers measure their impact in the classroom.

We've been recognized numerous times as leading innovators in education reform...

...but in our opinion, we've only scratched the surface. We're building a compelling user experience to equip teachers with action-oriented charts, graphs and dashboards, enabling them to make smarter, real-time decisions about what to reteach, who to reteach, and how student behavior affects academic achievement.

And that's where you come in.

We're looking for a talented User Interface and Experience Engineer to play a meaningful role in building the first-of-its-kind analytics platform for schools. Ideally, you'll start immediately in a part-time capacity, with the opportunity to transition to full-time after successful completion of initial projects. You’ll bring a passion for UI development and responsive design, along with the desire to constantly expand your skills along the way.

The server side application is written in PHP using Zend Framework, with plenty of Javascript, jQuery, and Ajax on the client side. Initially you will be working closely with the Lead Architect to learn our current best practices and expand on them, and our Design Lead to translate detailed mockups into assets and functioning events. We use an iterative, agile development lifecycle and take customer feedback seriously.
