My Client is on the lookout for a Valuations Assistant Vice President (AVP) for a 6 month temporary assignment. This role is based in Dublin 2 and there is an excellent pro rata salary on offer.

Role:

This project relates to the take on of a large new client for our Client.

The Valuations Assistant Vice President (AVP) is responsible for the portfolio accounting/fund accounting service delivery for the project to include GAV/NAV deliverables, financial reporting and tax reporting for the client. The Valuations AVP reports into the Valuations Operations Vice President for the project. The role involves liaison with a wide range of internal departments including Business Transformations, Technology, Product Management, Human Resources, Risk and Controls.

The AVP will manage the daily valuations operations ensuring the core deliverables are consistently and effectively performed and that a high quality client service is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring that all portfolio accounting/fund accounting deliverables for the client are delivered on time, to the highest standard and in line with agreements and procedures
Ensuring that the client continually receives a high quality service
Ensuring that all portfolio accounting/fund accounting, financial reporting and tax queries and requests for the client are dealt with promptly and adequately
Communication and resolution of key fund accounting issues
Manage the implementation and client take on from a portfolio accounting/fund accounting perspective to include the definition and documentation of a target operating model and workflow.
Co-ordination with internal departments in relation to the audit and tax assistance process for the client ensuring that all such deliverables are met
Responsible for adequate staffing and training of the portfolio accounting/fund accounting team including development of staff
To remain informed of applicable regulatory changes and of new industry and competitor developments and ideas, to meet any filing deadlines and to liaise with Regulatory Authorities if required/necessary.
Support the day-to-day activities of the Valuations Operations Vice President for the project from a valuations perspective
Manage the day-to-day activities for portfolio accounting/fund accounting
Responsible for developing and maintaining good client relationships

Experience/Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or an academic equivalent in a discipline relevant to Business/Finance, Economics, Accounting/Investment etc.
Qualified accountant preferred.
7+ years experience with a focus in the fund administration/investment management industry
Proven track record in managing fund accounting team(s)
Experience in managing client relationships, portfolio accounting and fund accounting team(s)
Experience of operating at senior levels with clients
Excellent organisational, planning and prioritisation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Accountable, taking full end-to-end ownership for projects
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to define and roll out new business processes and best practice
Ability to negotiate with and influence partners and clients
Good time management skills/proven ability to work to deadlines
Flexibility.
