Valuations Control AVP recruitment

The Valuations Control team is responsible for the consolidating and communication of balance sheet issues across all asset classes, overseeing quarterly IFRS 7 processes, actively contributing to the governance and valuation control reports for relevant committees, as well as the oversight of valuation policies in accordance with accounting standards. The role with have close liaisons with the technical accounting and financial control team.
 

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
• The preparation and oversight of the Valuation committee’s meeting materials, ensuring they are of an exceptionally high standard.
• Coordinate quarterly IFRS 7 balance sheet reports.
• Process improvements on an ad hoc basis.
• Partake in discussion between the independent valuations control team and the wider organisation.

The ideal candidate will preferably have:
• A degree in numerical discipline, e.g. Maths, Economics, Engineering or relevant professional experience.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, CIMA, CFA or MBA.
• Essential - Solid experience in Financial Services industry dealing with complex valuation issues in one or more asset classes. Strong experience in a reporting and advisory capacity.
• Preferred - Experience with presentation and communication to senior management which may have been obtained as part of a Professional Services / Consulting firm.
• Strong communication skills including the ability to distil complex issues into an easy to digest summary for senior management.
• Strong valuation related technical skills. Good understanding of Microsoft Office products.
• Deep understanding of technical and accounting issues related to valuations.
• Understanding of a broad range of asset classes.
• Proactive change champion who looks to develop and embed best practice.
