Valuations Control- AVP/VP recruitment

The IPV team in Singapore sits within Global Valuations Control for APAC.

Responsibilities include:

• Undertaking daily Independent Price Verification (IPV) for the flow businesses (Rates, FX and Credit in all Asia markets).

• Produce formal value added commentary and analysis to facilitate periodic discussions with Product Control, Front Office, Market Risk and other Gloval Valuations specialists.

• Closure of any testing gaps and material IPV variance identified in the course of undertaking IPV

• Devising appropriate methodologies where independent reference levels are not available

• Leveraging Front Office pricing models and adopting these for IPV purposes using independent parameters

• Production and review of all relevant Reserving methodologies relevant to the businesses

• Review and assessment of quality and coverage data to adopt in Reserving processes

• Embedding a continuous improvement ethic in all practices

Further, there will be opportunity for the right individual to assist in the development and implementation of expanded analysis to provide increased challenge and assurance over the IPV process operated globally. These include:

• Develop and implement an IPV process leveraging collateral information to cover all asset classes globally.

• Identify alternative pricing and information sources and implement for use within the IPV process.

• Develop and implement additional valuation techniques to provide alternative ways of viewing independent data and desk marks.

• Develop and implement processes to identify and investigate higher risk positions such as concentrated holdings.

• Develop and implement techniques and metrics to measure liquidity and to provide a link to IPV work in this respect.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Structured and Flow products

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

• Excellent academic record.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Good PC skills – spreadsheets, word processing.

• Professional qualification in accountancy, Investment Analysis or Applied Mathematics (e.g. CFA, CQF).

• Active appreciation of valuation control concepts and requirements relating to derivative trading activity in a banking environment.

• Grounding in derivative products and an appreciation of the relationship between market risk exposure, valuation and PL.

• Understanding of the end to end PL and balance sheet reporting process.

• Knowledge of product valuation and risk management techniques and knowledge of standard financial newswires.

• Understanding of IT issues relating to system valuations.

• Finance related further education.

• Working knowledge of IFRS, in particular IAS39.
