Overall Position Focus:

The successful candidate will perform a systematic and intensive review and analysis, appraisal of products, processes, materials, and suppliers for the purpose of cost savings and new product development. This position will be responsible for maintaining the highest product quality level and improving efficiency of the pump product lines. This will be accomplished by supporting design optimization, reverse engineering and product rationalization.

The Value Engineering Manager will also collaborate with other internal functions including product management, marketing, manufacturing, sourcing, and suppliers with respect to product design, performance, and manufacturability. This person will act as the liaison between these functional areas and Engineering while acting as a program manager and providing status updates on a regular basis.

Required Skills:

Requires an Engineering degree and a minimum of 3 years of direct experience with value based Engineering cost reduction, design optimization and product improvements. Experience in strategic sourcing, material cost out, contract development and supplier negotiations. Lean manufacturing concepts including Kanban implementation. Knowledge of pumps, pumping systems, motors and/or rotating equipment is preferred.
