Valve Repair and Automation Technician 2

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Under the direction of the Production Manager, is responsible for disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing of a variety of industrial valves and automated assemblies. These duties may be part of the repair program, or as part of new automated assembly program. The job also requires the person to exhibit knowledge of electrical and pneumatic control functionality.   
JOB DUTIES:
Ø  Perform receipt inspection of various valves and parts being able to verify and match incoming material with customer and Tyco Valves Controls receiving documentation.
Ø  Perform disassembly, repair, assembly and trouble shooting on various types of electric or pneumatic assemblies,  industrial valves including ¼ and multi turn valves. 
Ø  Establishes and maintains acceptable attendance habits.
Ø  Perform other duties as required.
Ø  Physical tasks include walking, grasping, carrying, lifting, seeing, hand-eye coordination, listening, and writing, speaking and traveling.
Ø  Mental tasks include reading, interpreting, analyzing, calculating, measuring and communicating.
Ø  Perform product testing, lifting and installing product weighing 35 lbs.
Ø  Work is performed typically indoors.  Some outside work required during local field service work. Travel generally within 100 miles of Corona Facility.
Ø  Work which occasionally produces a high level of mental/visual fatigue, periodically performed under pressure, requiring intense mental application and attention to detail.
Ø  Frequent exposure to one or more unpleasant (noise, heat, dust, etc.) or hazardous conditions 21-50% of work time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Ø  Basic knowledge of electrical and pneumatic type equipment usage (i.e. pneumatic and electric tools, fixtures and test equipment)
Ø  Education equivalent to High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Ø  Minimum 1 year Valve Automation experience  
Ø  Must be able to read and interpret various electric and pneumatic drawings, customer specifications and component IOM's.

Ø  Must understand the functionality and purpose of various electric and pneumatic components
Ø  Must understand and follow pertinent Tyco Valves Controls policies and procedures relative to all assigned duties and responsibilities.
Ø  Must be customer oriented willing to work overtime as required. Understanding this may involve evening and weekend call in, often times with very little notice.
Ø  Must be willing and capable of assisting on local and long distance field service jobs when required.
Ø Ability to perform all tasks safely.
