VAT Manager recruitment
Key Accountabilities:
- Together with the Tax Manager, providing a one-stop technical and commercially responsive tax / VAT advice and support service to the business.
- Preparation and submission of quarterly UK VAT returns, ensuring maximum recoveries are made under the current partial exemption regime.
- Preparation and submission of the Annual Partial Exemption calculation.
- Assisting in preparation and submission of Corporation tax returns, in both UK and USA.
- Supervising information gathering to ensure that all P11D PSA requirements are met. Assist in phasing in improvements to the P11D / PSA process.
- Involvement in VAT audits, including implementation of any recommendations arising.
- Involvement in the streamlining, standardisation and increased automation of tax related processes.
- Assisting the Tax Manager in providing tax support and advice to operating departments involved in company wide projects.
- Taking an active role in ensuring Visa Europe regional offices are compliant with local tax requirements where applicable.
- Ad hoc project work as required by Tax Manager.
- Reporting to the Tax Manager, the individual will play a key role in tax compliance on an International basis.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of dealing with VAT issues in the Financial Services Sector
- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
- Ideally a Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA and/or CTA
- Ability to use their own initiative and manage workload to deadlines
- Good technical knowledge of each of the main taxes (direct and indirect), although training can be provided in any new areas
- Analytical skills with good attention to detail
- Ability to work cross functionally across the business and adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong interpersonal skills
