VBA / SQL Developer – Commodities
This is a junior level position for a global energy trading company based in London. A position has arrived for a VBA / SQL developer with a strong scientific or computing background to join the front office Tactical Development team. The Tactical team works directly with the business and interacts with the various commodity desks. You will work on Ad Hoc projects for traders on daily basis.
Duties Responsibilities
- Engaging with stakeholders to analyse business requirements and propose a number of solutions
- Technical design and implementation of the tools to meet the agreed requirements
- Supporting the Data Management team in delivering better data quality and management via reconciliation, measurement and monitoring tools
- Working within the Framework for Continuous Improvement to deliver solutions
Essential Skills:
- Degree in a scientific, computing or engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Development and some analysis skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to operate under pressure and deliver to demanding deadlines
- Strong self-organisation, time management and prioritisation skills
- Team player building strong relationship with team and business clients
- Engineering and programming expertise
Advanced skills in:
- VBA, SQL, SSIS
