Vendor Manager Job in Staffordshire, Midlands UK

An exciting opportunity to work with a well known, world brand in the home furnishings and tableware industry. My client is looking for a Vendor Manager to work in their Purchasing and Supply team. Managing suppliers, raising PO's, expediting and ensuring that all terms of supply are adhered to. This is a challenging role and a fantastic opening at grass roots level with this global brand.

Main Duties

-Receive and aggregate market purchase requirements to a global level, evaluate and adjust to vendor MOQs but within the company Stock Policy.
-Convert purchase requirements into purchase orders and place with vendors.
-Proactively manage all orders relating to promotions, direct deliveries and key events.
-Maintain changes to supply dates to ensure accurate open purchase order book is available for all markets visibility.
-Evaluate and authorise all shipments with freight Co to provide optimum freight arrangements.
-Track all shipments and ensure all necessary documents are available to facilitate delivery.
-Process vendor invoices through to purchase ledger department, reconcile all statements.
-Authorise weekly payments based on agreed terms
-Analyse consolidated global forecast requirements for key vendors and evaluate short, medium and long-term capacity requirements (RCCP).
-Provide and review vendor KPI's and other information packs in support of the monthly SOP meetings.
-Calculate and analyse actual purchases v budget.
-Provide finance with actual and projected cash flow.

Person Specification
-The individual in this position must be extremely organised and keenly aware of changes that happen on a day-to-day basis in regard to product and market requirements
-Possess strong organisational and communication skills.
-The ability to work independently as well as within a team
-Proactive, self starter
-Diplomatic professional
-Experience in Vendor management
-Good knowledge of supply chain principles and techniques
-A strong IT knowledge (advanced excel) and knowledge of ERP systems are essential
-Analytical

You must have experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment, that being ideally FMCG.
