Vendor / Quality manager

Job Title:  Vendor Manager – Life Sciences / CRO / Pharma - Quality manager background also considered..
some Vendor management and some quality management aspects to the role.

• Strategically develop, lead and manage the vendor management process in Life Sciences / CRO / Pharma, to rapidly increase efficiencies and capabilities
• Source, identify and qualify suitably experienced translators and vendor partners
• Develop strong relationship with Operations to ensure that qualified vendors are available when required
• Liaise with Business Development, Account Managers and Pricing to ensure that strategic decisions are consistent with accounts’ specifications and price points
• Evaluate projects and recommend appropriate vendors and alternative strategies
• Negotiate competitive rates and identify opportunities for strategic pricing models
• Report and analyse vendor performance (productivity, quality and pricing)
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and plan the implementation with key partners
• Full responsibility for the vendor relationship including communications, service level agreements, etc.
• Defines the VM team structure for delivering in this market to Operational teams in Galway and the USA

 

Experience and Skills:

• 5+ years experience in translations and localizations in the life sciences / cro / pharma vertical
• 3+ years experience in sourcing vendor management
• Thinks ‘out of the box’ in finding translators and has strong internet recruiting skills
• Ability to rapidly find and qualify vendors in a busy, fast paced environment
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Previously delivered projects on continuous improvement and lean systems within vendor management
• Focused on metric’s, margin’s and results for both self and team
