Job Description:

Versatile Engineer Needed for an RF Imaging Manufacturer in NM with HW, SW, and Electronics Design

Located in northern New Mexico, we are the leader in researching, developing and manufacturing radio frequency geophysical imaging systems for use in various mining applications as well as defense-related projects. We are seeking an experienced, team-oriented Hardware Engineering professional to work with leading scientists and engineers at some of the most advanced research laboratories around the world.

What you must have for this position:

- At least a Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent and 5+ years of related experience.
- Strong background in electromagnetic (EM) and microwave theory
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of passive and active radio frequency (RF)
components such as amplifiers, oscillators, attenuators, mixers, filters,
synthesizers, transmission lines, S-parameters (matching networks, cascade
analysis), gain budget analysis (gain, noise figure [NF], linearity, noise power),
and filtering (types, bandwidth, implementations)
- Familiarity with schematic capture, printed circuit board (PCB) layout and
analysis software.
- Experience with IPC/JEDEC standards, design for manufacturability (DFM), trace impedance control, and signal integrity on complicated multi-layer PCB layouts.

What you should have -

- Expertise in radio frequency (RF), intermediate frequency (IF), and mixed signal design.
- Ability to debug prototype hardware and firmware using lab instruments and PC-based development software
- Conduct lab and field tests to validate the design
- Familiarity with schematic capture, printed circuit board (PCB) layout and analysis software.
- Familiarity with BGA parts a plus.
- Experience with software defined transceivers and super-heterodyne receivers
- Familiarity with AM, FM, FSK, ASK, etc. modulation/demodulation schemes and design of modem transceivers
- Knowledge of Altium Designer, Matlab, and Sonnet
