Vessel Operator, Energy Major, London or Singapore
The Vessel Operator is responsible for working with the Vessel Master to direct, monitor and improve the operational efficiency and on board performance of the post fixture contract execution of each vessel’s voyage. The successful candidate will be expected to identify potential hazards and risks which may have an impact on a vessels voyage and operations in port. They will be tasked with improving efficiency and rationalising ship movements to optimise the organisation’s cargo schedule.
The primary tasks of the Vessel Operator are as follows:
- The efficient ordering and monitoring of vessel movements, cargo transfer operations and other marine related activities including but not limited to the issuing of voyage orders, nomination of agents and surveyors, procurement of bunker fuel and the effective recording of all portions of the voyage.
- Build effective stakeholder relationships with the vessels, third party owners, technical managers and Hub / Port Agents.
- Procure bunker fuels to ensure safe voyage execution.
- Assist in vessel performance analysis and the preparation of activity reports.
- Provide out of hours support (on a rotational basis) for vessels that require real-time commercial operational support.
- To take specific accountability for HSSE.
The ideal candidate will have experience of the post fixture commercial operations process and demonstrate skills in the optimisation of vessel movements within the terms of Standard Charter Parties. They will most likely have worked within an integrated supply and trading organisation and possess previous marine experience.
