Officer
IMMEDIATELY for a
newly built Offshore
Supply Vessel.
Principle duties and
responsibilities are
as follows:
Ensure environmental and safety compliance with international, federal, state, and company policies by providing oversight and assistance to crewmembers.
Conduct, assist, or participate in the training of shipboard personnel of environmental and safety policies and procedures.
Conduct shipboard environmental and safety rounds with pertinent shipboard personnel such as the Engineer or Captain while overseeing that findings are appropriately corrected and reported.
Conduct pertinent safety and environmental meetings with crewmembers.
Be actively involved in all pre-job meetings and ensure that all paperwork involved in the job has been completed.
Ensure that all training and pre-job meetings are documented and filed appropriately.
Assist the crew in resolving environmental and safety concerns.
Regularly review environmental and safety related documents for completeness and accuracy.
Ensure that the Captain and other company personal are notified of all releases or spills into the environment and safety incidents.
Ensure that all documents and certificates are controlled and maintained.
Coordinate required environmental and safety drills with the Captain. Observe the drills and document any improvements and ineffective practices.
Ensure that all safety equipment on the vessel is maintained.
Requirements:
Previous experience onboard an Offshore Supply Vessel
Good organizational skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive and positive approach to protecting the environment and ensuring the safety of crewmembers
An environmental or safety related degree/qualification is a plus
