Airgas Mid America, Inc., a subsidiary of Airgas, Inc., a leading distributor of industrial, medical, specialty gases welding supplies, is seeking a Plant Operator to join our Evansville, IN team.
Position Summary
The VGL Cylinder Repair Technician position
will assist in the rehabilitation and repair of Liquid Cylinder tanks (both industrial and beverage)
Technician will be responsible for performing regularly scheduled repairs, rehab and upgrades of Liquid Cylinders.Some warehouse, forklift and inventory tasks will be associated with this position. Candidate must be detail oriented and thorough and have and an ability to learn to properly handle both liquid and high pressure gas cylinders. Must be able to pass written and oral tests and federal handling of hazardous materials, (HHM), regulations, following training .
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
* High School Diploma, or equivalent - college or technical degree preferred.
* Experience with cryogenic gases and systems, high pressure piping/tubing work a plus.
* Experience in the HVAC or plumbing industry with hands on welding/brazing skill a plus.Able to understand piping and tank detail from manuals and mechanical drawings.
* Must have strong math skills; ability to calculate figures and units of measure.
* Must be customer service oriented and able to interact with both internal and external customers in a professional manner.
