Position Purpose:
With some direction from an Oversight Principal, is responsible for leading a transaction from sourcing to disposition.
Essential Functions:
• Source water infrastructure and other infrastructure transactions that align with CIM’s investment strategy and underwriting criteria; manage such assets through acquisition, ownership and disposition.
• Provide direction and oversight to the Associate, AVP, coordinate with other internal departments on the deal teams, and oversee investment structuring alongside the Oversight Principal in order to enhance returns and mitigate risks.
• Responsible for the preparation and/or review of Investment Committee Memos and financial models to ensure that the investment structuring concepts are fully addressed in the underwriting.
• With some direction and feedback from an Oversight Principal, conduct due diligence, review, negotiate, and comment on key documents and handle day-to-day interaction/negotiation with internal CIM departments, co-sponsors, attorneys and outside parties throughout the life-cycle of the asset by the executing the approved business plan.
• Work with other CIM departments to advance the transactions adhering to CIM’s operating procedures.
• Actively manage assets including preparing and/or reviewing asset management reports with teams to mitigate potential risks and enhance investment results.
• Assist the fund raising and investor relations teams by providing analyses of current and potential investment opportunities and market conditions for existing and prospective investors.
Non-Essential Functions:
• Provide updates to Oversight Principals and others within the organization as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Provide direction and guidance to the Associate/AVP and other team members on the overall strategy and direction of transactions.
• Provide input/feedback on annual 360 degree performance reviews.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical development to junior team members.
Educational/Experience Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc):
• Proven track record of success
• MBA from a top tier business school.
• At least 15 years of prior work experience, with some experience in each of the following:
? Underwriting and/or structuring complex transactions at either an investment bank or private equity firm.
? Infrastructure acquisitions, development or asset management.
? Sourcing water infrastructure and other infrastructure transactions.
Communication Skill Requirements:
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex information, financial reports and/or legal documents.
• Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to team members and management, including the ability to listen and understand the opinions and suggestions of others.
Technical Skill Requirements:
• A strong working knowledge of corporate finance.
• Understanding of infrastructure investing and development of water assets and other infrastructure asset types.
• Strong capital markets experience (debt and/or equity raising).
