Vice President
We are seeking an independently motivated team player to develop, implement and handle the challenge of our expansive and integrated operations in strain construction, analytics and screenings. As the Vice President - Research Operations, you will be held accountable for the core operations of essential research, reporting directly to the Sr. Vice President. Your role will to be keep operations moving between the three departments at maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Help develop, implement and execute key operations in research (Construction, Analytics, HTS)
- Ensure fluid cooperation between departments to ensure consistent workflows.
- Manage operational and departmental leaders based on performance
- Develop metrics to measure operational excellence, track metrics and improve performance continuously.
- Help transition of new technologies in operations
- Provide leadership and vision for the research operations departments.
- Oversee budget management of each department.
- Advise business development on timelines for new product development.
- Advise personnel in reviewing technology, methods, equipment, and facilities.
- Develop training programs for employees to ensure operational robustness and rigor
- Oversee development of employees for maximum effectiveness (including training and coaching.)
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in biology, engineering, chemistry or related discipline.
- Deep understanding of automated workflow (High Throughput.)
- Knowledge of industrial workflows and processes.
- 10+ years in High Throughput environment, including automation, technology transfer and research in an industrial setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing others.
- Strong ability to evaluate process efficiencies and to lead effective change.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work efficiently and productively in a rapidly-growing company.
- Proficiency in written and persuasive oral presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate conflicting points of view.
- Ability to travel as needed (approximately 25% of time.)
- Demonstrated experience with statistical process control methods and software packages.
