Vice-President, Business Management, GCG Executive Group recruitment

The Global Client Group (GCG) is the client-facing group within BlackRock that works with clients around the globe to achieve the outcomes they need in today's world. Specific teams such as regional Institutional client businesses, Financial Institutions, Global Consultant Relations, US Retail, International Retail, iShares, Alternative Investment Strategists, and Cash Management, are dedicated to different types of clients to better understand their needs and to deliver excellent service by anticipating these needs. GCG had over 2,000 employees covering $3.4T in client AUM producing $8.0bn in annualized revenue at year-end.

The GCG Executive team represents the individual business units on firm-wide initiatives that impact our clients. The team is also responsible for internally measuring business performance across the GCG business units, and providing reporting and analytics externally for total GCG to various executive groups including the Global Executive Committee, Global Operative Committee and senior leaders for BLK Earnings Releases. We drive and implement internal GCG messaging, as well as lead the client communication efforts. As part of overall GCG oversight, the team refines and manages the client service model and technology agenda that affects all GCG businesses.

We are looking for a Vice President to join our group as a part of the GCG Executive team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead strategic initiatives impacting the GCG business units, including business management, cross-functional
• Partner with all groups within GCG, Finance, Strategy, Business Operations, Portfolio Management, and Legal Compliance to support the GCG Executive office
• Work with business units within GCG and across BlackRock on various cross-functional business management and strategy projects
• Actively engage with regional COO teams across the global offices to ensure consistent messaging and coordination of business critical initiatives
• Write GCG communications and create presentation material for Executive team
• Manage workflow across GCG Exec Business Management, specifically the analyst and associate generalists. Train and mentor the individual junior resources.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of directly related experience and/or MBA is highly desirable
• Comfortable working across multiple functions, geographies and stakeholders within GCG and across the firm, with maturity and judgment in dealing with internal clientele
• Ability to synthesize information, summarize issues, set and execute on strategic and tactical objectives, and monitor strategic initiatives
• Strong quantitative skills along with demonstrated analytical ability, familiarity with budgets, forecasts and financial metrics
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Organized with strong time management skills
• Effective team player, able to work with people of all levels
• High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity and ethics
• Experience managing and developing an analyst/associate team
• Willingness to roll up sleeves
• Excited to work in a high pace, high visibility unit in the firm
